How will you celebrate Thanksgiving Day tomorrow? It will be a quiet day here at the Cretsinger House. Our children have plans with their respective families. Everyone will be here Saturday, but we’re going out to eat. My energy level is still quite low. It’s hard for me to clean the house and cook as much as I’d want to. Next year should be better. Everyone agreed this would be best this year.
We have so much to be thankful for. My health is improving and I’m not expecting to have surgery this Thanksgiving Day as I did two years ago. Mantle Rock Publishing is growing. We’re taking it slow, but we are growing. Several books are already scheduled for release next year and some of our regular authors have some to release also. I’ve learned a lot about publishing and marketing, and I want to help others.
This morning, we received rain. It has been so dry, and we needed it badly. I am so thankful that we did get a little.
Yesterday, Jerry and I went to see “Hacksaw Ridge.” I had heard a lot about the movie and wanted to see it. I’ve been a fan of Mel Gibson since he starred in “The River”, which was filmed in my home town. He was such a young man then. He’s a great director now and the movie was about as realistic as I’ve seen in years. I would recommend it to everyone. There is a lot of blood and guts beginning about the middle of the film, but it is well worth it to renew your faith in God. We see what one man endured to do what he believes in, and it’s awesome. The language is not what I like, but it’s no worse than what I hear on television. I came away a better person. We do not go to very many movies, but I’m glad we saw this one.
Enjoy Thanksgiving Day. Be thankful for what God has given you.
