It does take a lot of patience to get to Friday, doesn’t it? I’m always excited to see Friday roll around. It means I can turn my computer off at 5 p.m. and not have to look at it again until Monday morning. I’m not saying I do that all the time, but most of the time. When I’m doing personal writing, I’ll still be at the computer on weekends.
Our Saturdays are usually a little lazy, but in the afternoon, I begin to think about Sunday dinner and getting ready for church. We used to eat out a lot on Sundays, but we watched our bodies grow and our pocketbook shrink. We decided we ate healthier if we ate at home, and we saved money in the long run. With the two of us, it’s a lot easier.
This is the first time in a long time we’ve been up to date at Mantle Rock Publishing. That is my part is. Others are editing for later in the year, but we have no big rush. We have a book coming out on pre-order March 13. Then we have a little stretch where we don’t have anything. This will be our time to really work on the remainder of the year. We have several more books releasing toward the end of the year. One is a book I’m writing, so I need to get busy.
Next Friday we’ll be heading for the Memphis area for a writers conference. Mid-South Christian Writer Conference has asked me to attend. I am thrilled to go back again this year. This is a great group of writers.
In June our KenTen Writers Retreat will take place at Montgomery Bell State Park outside of Nashville. I’m so excited to help with this conference. I will be both speaking and also co-coordinating the conference. We have worked hard to get the best speakers and venue for our retreat this year. It’s really a conference, but we want to be relaxed and enjoy what each participant has to offer. If you want a reasonable priced conference to attend, then this one is for you. You can get more information at http://kentenwriters.org. We’d love to have you attend. We also have a writing contest, and it’s all on the website.
