The weekend is almost on us. How many of you look forward to the weekend? You can raise you hand. I do. My hand was up. I love looking forward to a couple of days off, but I rarely take them. I did this past weekend and I read. I hadn’t sat down and read a book for pleasure for a long time. This was very relaxing, and I enjoyed each minute of it. Maybe a day at the beach would help.
This weekend we will be off to Memphis for Mid-South Christian Writers Conference. Last year I went with my friend, Sandra Robbins. Sandra taught a class and did mentoring. I went along as an attendee, and enjoyed the conference very much. I was surprised when I received an email asking me to attend as a mentor. I’ll take appointments with prospective authors. I enjoy talking to people about writing. My husband will be joining me by keeping our books in the bookstore. I’m very excited. We’ll be using our new Mantle Rock Publishing LLC sign for the first time. It’s very professional looking.
I’m also starting a new newsletter called Glam and Glitter Marketing. Marketing is so boring to talk about. Most authors think it doesn’t matter if they market or not, but as a publisher if you’re not selling books, you’re not going to be with any company long. If books do not sell, we can’t keep them in our company, pure and simple. Everyone has to market. Even those with a million of more sales under their belt are marketing every day. I want to get you enthused to market. If you would like to sign up for this newsletter, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d be glad to put your name on our list. Write “Glam and Glitter” in the subject line.
This is one of the shortest blogs I’ll probably ever do, but there is a lot to do before we leave for Memphis. If you are at the conference, look me up. I’d love to talk to you.
