Today I’m working on an edit for our next book to release in June. Quest of Fire is a Speculative/Fantasy by Brett Armstrong. This is the second Speculative we’ll published and we have two more lined up for this year. Speculative is a little different, but I think I’m getting into it more each day. I’m looking forward to the next two we will publish, one in September and one in October.
Our year is full, and I won’t be adding anymore books for 2018. We are taking proposals for 2019. This is the first year we’ve had the year full this early. That’s probably a good thing, because I start worrying when the year is not full.
I’d like to ask anyone who is interested in sending us a proposal to read our guidelines on this website. I think the page is “Submissions.” Please go by them. They are pretty simple and should be followed for your proposal to be accepted. Each agent/publisher has their own guidelines. A new author needs to read them to be aware of what the agent/publisher is looking for.
We are also excited about our upcoming retreat with KenTen Writers Retreat. If you’d like a good conference to come to, go to kentenwriters.org and see what we have to offer. The response from last year was amazing, and most of the attendees are returning. That’s a good feeling to know we pleased so many people. Our Sandra Robbins Inspirational Award is closed with twelve entries. Can’t wait to start judging and picking a winner. It is going to be so much fun. Montgomery Bell State Park has blocked seventeen rooms for us at a reduced price. After April 27, the rooms blocked will go back into the system at the regular price. On May 1, our registration fee will increase, and after May 28 no registrations will be taken. They do have rooms on the floor where hotel registration, dining room, and conference room is located for people who have challenges walking. You have to ask for a room on the Fourth Floor to receive one of these.
I look forward to seeing what the remainder of 2018 has in store for us at Mantle Rock Publishing LLC.
