Often our best plans go astray. This happened today. I knew it was going to be a busy day, but it turned out busier than usual. We had an early morning dental appointment. With these early morning appointments I’m usually awake most of the night. I think I got to sleep a little after twelve and woke up about four. Very short night. Okay, I’m hyper when I go someplace. Maybe I need to get out more.
I promised some exciting news today. Drum roll please. Mantle Rock Publishing LLC will begin podcasts about marketing. Marketing should be a very important part of every writer’s business. The industry has changed during the last few years, and large publishing houses have turned most of the marketing over to the author. No longer do these companies do all the marketing for us. We have to do the largest part of it.
I’ve asked several of my friends who publish with the large New York City publishing companies. They tell me they have to do the hands on marketing. Their companies do some, but most of it is left up to them.
How do you do the marketing yourself? That’s what we’ll talk about. Why do we do it, and how do we do it. Other things are part of marketing and getting books ready to publish or go to an agent. Over the weeks we will talk about these things. This will still be a part of “That’s My Book” podcasts. The price? FREE. What could be better? This is my gift to all of you who have been interested in watching Mantle Rock Publishing grow through the years. We’ve all learned a lot in the past almost six years.
My plans are to get the podcast together tomorrow and have it on early Thursday morning. I love doing podcasts, and I want to do them to help others learn more about marketing their books. Please join me Thursday for the newest “That’s My Book” episode.
