As I’ve told you before, I love Wednesdays! I know some of you like Friday’s better, but on a Wednesday you have two days to look forward to until the weekend. Weekends are rarely excitable for us at our house. It’s usually yard work, gardening, and housecleaning. That does not excite me one bit! What does excite me is planning these next two days so I can have a weekend that I am not rushed. I close my office at 4 p.m. on Friday. I usually do very little for Mantle Rock Publsihing until Monday morning. I learned a long time ago that I needed the time to rest from my work. Even God rested after He created the world.
This week was going to be a week of writing, but it hasn’t happened like I wanted it to. But I’ve sent out contracts, still have a few more to go before the end of the week. I have one manuscript to send for formatting, which I will get done before midnight. I’m hoping we can get the book on pre-order this time before two days before release. I’ve had one book with the printer for a week and it’s still being reviewed. Of course this is the largest printer and distributor in the world. It takes longer for them.
Next year is taking shape. Half of our slots are filled, which is a good feeling. We have never had all of the current year and half of the next year filled before June. I’ve been praying for the Lord to bless our business. He’s doing a great job! This year is beginning to be a great improvement from last year. Thanks to all of you who have bought our books. It means a lot to me.
What’s up for the rest of the day? I have to do my podcast. I procrastinated yesterday, but it needs to be done today. I’ve wanted to teach marketing for some time. I do know it’s the only way we can improve our sales, but most authors are scared to start putting themselves in the limelight. No one is going to market your book but you, so let’s begin tomorrow.
Have a blessed day.
