Finally Friday! This has been a rough week with doctors appointments. I had scheduled one wrong, but I caught it in time. Next week will not be much better. This is life, and we have to flow with it.
Marketing is something I talk a lot about. It is so important to us as writers. If we are not telling people about our books and getting recognized, we’ll never sell books. This week I started something that I’m pretty excited about. Each morning I ask a question on Facebook. Never the same question, but different questions about something most people are able to answer.
This is what is happening, people are communicating with me and with others who answer the question. I’m also getting ideas to use in future books. This builds your fan base. People who will communicate with you and others. Word of mouth is the best way to advertise your books. If someone likes what you write, they’ll tell everyone they meet. The word spreads. Our all time largest seller rarely writes on Facebook. She doesn’t have a blog. She doesn’t Twitter. She talks. Everyone likes her books and tells everyone else about them. This is what sells books. If you do write on Facebook and Twitter, be sure to answer everyone who writes on your post. This is very important.
If you are not communicating with others, you’re not selling books. You can write posts all day long, but when people start communicating you know they like what you’re doing. You start to interest them a little bit. Today start communicating with people on Facebook. You’ll be amazed what will happen. Have a blessed day.
Good advice, Kathy!!
Thanks.
