How do you spend your weekends? Family time, church on Sunday, writing, or any number of other things? This week has been another busy week with July 4th in the middle, but we’ve made it so far. I love to write on Saturdays.
My weeks are so full working with our authors and editing, that I look forward to Saturday and some writing time. I’m trying to learn Scrivener to help me with my writing. I love it because I can do a character analysis for each character and have it one click away. Then I love how I know the word count for each chapter as I write it. That lets me know if I am close to the number of words I want for each chapter.
If you are a writer, do you have pictures of your characters? I do and with Scrivener I can click and see if the character has blonde or brown hair. I love that about the program. I can also make notes and have them handy. They’re only a click away.
For years I’d written in Word and lost my characters or have to search for their character analysis. I didn’t have anyway to take notes and have them handy. The secondary characters are all written in the sidebar to the right. I only have to shift my eyes to know the name and a little about them. This is so easy when you are writing. Secondary characters are forgotten so easily.
Scrivener is still a little foreign to me, but I’m learning quickly. If you think you might be interested in using this program geared to writers, go to YouTube and search for a Scrivener tutorial. Also you can get a 30 day free trial. That’s 30 days you use the program, not a month in time. If you don’t use it every day you can keep it until the 30 times have expired. I highly recommend using Scrivener if you write.
