Today’s podcast is not the best quality. I was shaving trouble with my mic, and there is an echo. I tried to edit as much as I could out of the recording, but there is still some echo. I need a sock for my mic. Before I do another recording I will get one. I apologize for the echos.
Jessica McCarty is the author of “A Desperate Love,” a historical Christian fiction novel that released in September of 2018. Jessica lives in Indiana with her husband of eight years, Greg. She is stepmother to four children and works in circulation at her local library, which affords her plenty of resources to pursue her writing goals. She has loved to both read and write since she was a child.
Jessica’s favorite genres to read are historical fiction and young adult fantasy. She enjoys fall, long walks with her husband, books, coffee, chocolate, and fairy tales; not necessarily in that order. “A Desperate Love” is her first published novel.
Months after the disappearance of Lady Olivia’s betrothed, Sir Tristen, she continues to mourn his loss, until the day her father announces he will find her a new suitor. Olivia’s long held belief that Tristen may still be alive, and her desire to find him, spurs her to action. Lady Olivia sets out on her quest, armed with only her sword and determination. It is one that will lead her to pirates, questionable choices, and a new understanding of who she truly is. But as a new threat appears, she must put her belief in those who are untrustworthy at best. And when Tristen’s true fate is revealed, that belief will be tested all the more. Everyone’s fate may lie in her skilled hands, and they will soon discover what she is willing to do for love.
