My name is Brooke Cox and the one thing that I have never inspired to be is normal. Normal is a setting used for appliances. I loved being quirky (fun while being different) and creative. In fact, Deadly Doll came from my desire to reach out to others who don’t quite fit in with everybody else.
As for me, I have been married for 32 years to my high school sweetheart, Tim. We have a beautiful daughter Sara, who just turned 25 years old. We love the Lord. And we love having fun and adventure.
I started writing before I could write. I loved Snoopy. Still do. I saw the comic pictures of him typing out stories while sitting on top of his doghouse. I thought, “Why can’t I do that?” So, I began to make up my own stories and I would have relatives write them down for me.
After I had my daughter, I became serious about the craft of writing. I took writing classes and attended writer’s conferences. And I have been a member of the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) for at least 10 years.
Deadly Doll is my first novel and my first mystery. I love reading and watching mysteries. After I finished a mystery book I had checked out from the library, again I thought “Why can’t I do that?” I did some research on writing mysteries and it went from there.
Deadly Doll was a 2016 Selah Finalist for Debut Novel. And it also made the Inspy 2016 Mystery / Thriller Longlist.
