A sweet, classic love story that’s pure vintage Christian romance. Puts me in mind of a contemporary Janette Oke. And it’s the romance that takes centre stage. Sarah and Jared’s love story gently unfolds against the rich backdrop of an antebellum mansion in South Carolina. Loved the setting and the lure of an unexpected inheritance that brings Sarah to Litchfield Beach.,,and into Jared’s arms!
He’s all Southern charm and brown-eyed winks. What girl’s pulse wouldn’t stutter in his presence? By rights, Jared should be resentful of Sarah. She’s usurped part of the business he holds so dear. But Jared is a godly man — in fact all the characters are Christian in this novel — and his penchant for seeking out the Lord in every aspect of his life goes a long way towards softening any resentment he might have otherwise nursed.
Sarah is just as devout and uses the time away from home to diligently seek the Lord’s leading in her life. New opportunities await — both professionally and personally. I love how both hero and heroine are secure in their faith, determined to seek divine guidance on each step of the journey that brings them together.
A sweet, contemporary romance from a debut author! And the first in the Southern Breeze series and I’m looking forward to more. Hoping it’s Lucy’s story next. (hint to the author.)
